Dear all,

I would like to bring to your attention about Projek Kalsom 13 this year. Projek Kalsom is an annual project organised by UK students for form4 students from humble family background. Started of in 1993 in Jerantut, Pahang this year, 2007, we are going to have it in Kangar Perlis.

First of all, i'm Ang from edinburgh. I got to know this project in the last
January UKEC meeting and spoke a few times to the last year's organiser,
and took the job for this year.

So far, i have got lots of response from a lot of ppl who knew about this
project. I have contacted some of the previous committee and liased with a
few others who are interested to form a committee. There are some
contacted me who interested to just join us in the camp on that day itself
as facis.

Let me just feed you guys with the details of the camp. This project Kalsom
13, is going to be in Perlis this year. The exact location is Sekolah
Menengah Sains Tunku Syed Putra in Kangar. The 5 days camp is going to be
held from 19 Aug (Sunday) to 23 Aug (Thursday) during the mid term holiday
in Malaysia. We are now sending it to the Ministry of Education and the Jabatan Pelajaran Negeri Perlis for their approval.

The target group of this camp is Form 4 students, who scored very well in
their PMR but from humble family background. Basically we send out request
to the JPN and they will get us the list of students. The number is 160,
from all over Perlis, and so we divide them into 16 groups, overseeing by 3
facis per group, which means, we will need 48 facis.

The 5 days camp is going to be conducted under a few main core modules
namely the Study Skills, English Day, Career and Education after SPM. We
want to inspire these fourth formers for better achievement in study
as well as life.

I hope you guys can forward this email to everyone in your Malaysian
Society. I am certainly looking forward for influx of emails showing
interest in the project. We might not be able to fit everyone in the
committee but surely we need more ppl to be facis during the camp.
